The Journey

New Life
After recovering from a heart transplant on New Year's Eve of 2007, I decided that the best contribution to enhance seniors' lifestyles across America would be to share my experience and successful track record with those who serve seniors in Senior Living communities across the country.

Residential Real Estate
I began my career in residential real estate after graduating from UTEP in El Paso, Texas in 1973.  In 1977, after 4 years of successful real estate sales at one of the leading Realtors in El Paso, I founded Hunsicker & Hunsicker, Inc. Realtors.  This company grew to become the 3rd largest Realtor in El Paso.

Move into Senior Living
In 1985, my family and I decided it was time to see the world, so we sold Hunsicker & Hunsicker and moved to Dallas, where I began my career in Senior Living.

Retirement Housing Transition Program
I worked for over a year with a start-up company in senior living, then founded The Retirement Housing Transition Program for Equitable Relocation (purchased by Travelers Relocation).  This division of Travelers Relocation provided relocation services for Senior Living communities to assist their residents in the process of selling their home and making the move to the community.  The Trammel Crow Company of Dallas was the first of several clients in 1987.

Forum Group
In 1988, one of the relocation clients, Forum Group, Inc., out of Indianapolis, recruited me to become a Regional Director of Sales serving Texas and New Mexico.  At Forum Group, my responsibilities grew to include sales and marketing support for over 15 of Forum's upscale full-service rental retirement communities across the country.

Marriott Senior Living Services
After an acquisition of Forum Group, I joined Marriott Senior Living Services and moved to headquarters in Washington, D.C.  At Marriott, I provided management support for sales and marketing for many of Marriott's communities as a Vice President of Sales.  At any one time, I would have up to 15 Regional Directors of Sales reporting to me.  During my time at Marriott, they grew from about 18 to over 75 communities.  I was involved in Marriott's CCRC's and Brighton Gardens.

Greystone Communities
In July 2001, I was recruited by Greystone Communities as a Vice President of Marketing.  My role was to help Greystone reorganize and grow its Marketing Department.  After two years of significant growth, I was promoted to Corporate Vice President of Marketing.  During my time there, Greystone's communities grew from about 30 to over 60 active client accounts.

Hunsicker Consulting
In January 2007, my heart condition forced me to leave Greystone and wait for a heart transplant.  After about 11 months of waiting for the new heart, it finally came on New Year's Eve of 2007.  I had a year to ponder my future after the transplant.  My dream of forming Hunsicker Consulting has become a reality.

Now, I am here to serve you with a new strong heart, and the wisdom and experience of over 25 years in Senior Living sales, marketing, and customer service. I have worked with over 150 communities and am here to help you in any way I can.

If you have a question, please don’t hesitate to contact me personally or complete our form and let us know how we can be of service to you.

    Sue Ronnenkamp
National Director of Senior Relocation USA

Sue’s focus the past 14 years has been developing and delivering innovative programs and services for older adults. She became one of the early trailblazers in the new field of senior move management with the creation of her first business in 1998 called Living Transitions, a service to provide “hands on” help and support to older adults making a later life, downsizing move. In addition to creating and growing this brand new niche service, Sue has inspired seniors to “make the move” through her step-by-step guide books, articles, and right-sizing seminars and workshops for over a decade. She also played a role in expanding the availability of the senior move management service in the U.S. and Canada through the business start-up kit and procedure manual she developed. In 2008, Sue sold her Living Transitions business and created an aging education and consulting firm called Age-Full Living to expand her educational focus and program and product development work.

Sue has a Master’s Degree in Hospital and Health Care Administration with a special focus on senior services/long term care. She spent the first half of her career in administrative positions with several large hospital systems and a large national insurance company before following her passion back to the senior living field.
